Linda is a potter based in Greenville, SC. She creates a variety of functional and fun pottery pieces which showcases her skills and vision. With a background as a retired yoga therapist, Linda brings a unique perspective to her work, infusing it with a sense of mindfulness and balance. In addition to her pottery, Linda also enjoys the art of baking sourdough bread and consulting with aspiring yoga teachers.
Like so many people, I pursued the art of baking bread in 2020 - thanks pandemic! I began with NY bagels, which I missed even after being away from New York for over 20 years. I'll be forever grateful for Claire Saffitz' tutorial on The NY Times app! My next step was sourdough. After weeks of perfecting my homemade starter, I began baking. Discovering the health benefits of sourdough, especially as it applies to my autoimmune disease, was a big win! Check out my blog if you'd like to read more about this.
I loved teaching yoga, owning a studio and building a yoga community in a small town where one didn't previously exist. I I met some really fabulous people in my studio! I envisioned that being my gig long into my golden years. If only life went as planned! While an autoimmune disease has it out for my spine and joints, making teaching difficult, the silver lining has been gaining a new passion as a potter and shifting into a role as a yoga teacher mentor - especially those looking to teach in a more inclusive, considerate and accommodating way. Many yoga teacher trainings don't cover this aspect well, if at all. I am here to fill in those gaps. Message me if one-on-one sessions to grow as a yoga teacher is something you're interested in.
